Sea Spray

Lizzie Hillier

The energy and vitality of nature, contained within a crisp geometric form. Sea Spray is a wonderful expression of Lizzie’s experimental side, bringing together natural textures (referencing coastal weather) and geometric forms in a rather unconventional composition – a large, almost monolithic circular motif in the centre of a white field. There’s something ancient within the fabric of this image, expressed in a wholly contemporary manner. Brushstrokes recall the ebb and flow of the tides – rising, swelling waves… Hand-mixed for this edition, the blues and greens are harmonious, and unmistakably marine in their inspiration. Hand-printed by Lizzie in her Sussex studio, summer 2021; launched as part of her debut Look Up collection.
