Revival 14 / Tennyson's Lane

Supermundane

Rob Lowe – AKA Supermundane – often finds caches of vintage postcards, upon which he screenprints beautifully considered geometric designs. In 2022, having opened our Haslemere gallery the previous year, we sourced a series of vintage postcards from various decades, depicting local tourist spots. We asked Rob if he'd liked to print on them, and he obliged – introducing a subtle, elegant, yet decidedly contemporary intervention. Reviving forgotten artefacts; breathing new life into historic views of familiar locations. Each card in the series has a Supermundane postcard insert, which bears the poem: 'From here / I'll send a postcard / - handwritten – / to say / I'm thinking of you / In words that don't say that / At all.'
