Glyphic #5 is one of seven unique state prints created by Mark especially for our summer 2019 exhibition, Awe Yes / The Joy of Print – part of the E17 Art Trail programme. "I'm excited to have found a way to apply screenprinting to my practice," says Mark, "which still gives me freedom to work in the loose, intuitive way I’m used to. I exposed and used just one set of shapes; layering them up to create different compositions. An added bonus has been the overlapping of solid colour, creating completely new shapes which hint at abstracted letterforms and in some cases, become almost figurative."
