Summer Shows

It's already been a busy summer for the artists involved in Look Up, and it would appear there's no rest for the wicked. The wickedly talented, that is.

That's right, while the rest of us have been finishing work early and hiding in beer gardens, our artists have been busy chipping away at their creative practice and exhibiting new work. Fiona Grady and Mark McClure have both contributed fantastic screen prints to our launch collection (available now in our SHOP), and that's not all they've been up to...

Cut vinyl window work by Fiona Grady, The Art House UK Wakefield, July 2016

Fiona Grady's solo show, 'Rendered Invisible', opened yesterday at The Art House UK in Wakefield. Presenting the results of a four week residency, the exhibition runs 'til August 4th (Tuesday-Thursday, 10-4) and features iridescent cut vinyl windows, egg tempera wall drawings, experiments with laser cutting , and a series of blind embossed prints exploring "the ephemeral qualities of light". Our summer of fun continues today with the opening of the 'MIX: Summer Group Show 2016' at Lawrence Alkin Gallery, featuring new work by Mark McClure. It's a great opportunity to see some fresh new pieces by Mark – "sensory and physical snapshots of the urban landscape" – alongside work by the likes of Grayson Perry and Damien Hirst. 'MIX' opens Friday July 29th, and runs 'til August 20th (Monday–Saturday 11-7) and you can find out more at http://bit.ly/2adFjQz

Yes and Tez, 'Chroma Form' at Well Hung is a group show focusing on "the interplay of colour, form and lines". It's right up our street! 'Chroma Form' runs from August 4th–September 4th (Monday–Friday 9.30-6, Saturday 11-5), and you can read all about it here http://bit.ly/2azOEyC
