Zoe Anker

Outrageously effervescent prints, bursting with neon colours and tumbling geometry… Zoe’s work is inventive, accomplished, vibrant, and tons of fun.

Inspired by her love of process, pop culture, travel, nature and Brutalist architecture, there is an undeniable, infectious energy at the heart of Zoe’s printmaking. Having graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2004 with a Textile Futures MA, she forged a career in the fashion industry, but the pull of printmaking proved strong…. Fashion’s loss is our gain, as she continues to explore colour, geometry, layering, mark-making, and a playful, maximal approach to composition. In short, Zoe’s prints look like nobody else’s. “Process always influences the outcome of my work. I’m very impulsive, free and playful. I mainly use paper stencils; I love the freedom they offer – they allow me to evolve shapes, layers and compositions at a rapid pace." Her work has certainly blossomed in recent years; in the summer of 2021 Zoe celebrated her first solo show, Electric Bloom, at BSMT Space in London. Her debut Look Up collection is a joyous tour de force, showcasing her singular approach with a capsule collection of dynamic one-offs and a beautiful edition, Bubble. It's a collection inspired by lockdown – in particular, memories of past travels and dreams of future adventures…
