Read / The Look Up Blog

At Look Up we're we're as focused on promoting our featured artists as we are on selling their prints. That's why there are two equal sides to our website...

First, there's our SHOP – an online store where you can buy exclusive limited edition prints by fifteen handpicked artists. Then there's READ –  a blog where we'll post news, updates, interviews with our featured artists, studio visits, works in progress, and more. READ will keep you up to date with new editions, as and when they're released, as well as profiling any new artists who join our roster.

We'll keep you up to date with relevant events and exhibitions – whether we're directly involved in them or not. If one of the artists on our roster has a solo show, features in a group show, has an exciting commission or residency on the cards, or has a new edition for sale elsewhere, we'll talk about it in READ.

We'll promote any platform featuring work by the artists on our roster, even if the work is for sale on another site. Our aim is to increase awareness of the artists and their work, broadening their audience while selling their prints. We'll post interviews with our featured artists, shedding light on their creative practice – what inspires them, how they got started, valuable lessons they've learned along the way, why they enjoy working with certain materials and processes, their approach to printmaking, the role it plays in their practice, and so on.

Sometimes we'll turn our spotlight on artists and designers – past and present – who aren't involved in Look Up, but who continue to inspire us daily, informing our chosen aesthetic focus: geometry, line, pattern and colour. We're also planning to post useful tips on mounting and framing your prints, info on where to make your own prints, and any other topics relevant to readers taking an interest in the editions we sell and the artists who create them.

In short, READ will keep you up to date with all things Look Up. So if you're interested in our concept, or you're a huge fan of any of our featured artists, or you're just generally interested in contemporary printmaking, there's bound to be something on READ to please the eye and tantalise the mind.

Thanks for reading.
