A Curve In Framed Air
Supermundane
A brand new edition by Rob Lowe – aka Supermundane – and it's a beauty. Rob's been back in the printmaking studio for the first time in ages, loving every minute. With its Terry Riley inspired title, A Curve In Framed Air represents both a continuation of Rob's drawing habits, and a new beginning in the print studio. "I've always drawn monochromatic, mono-lined drawings. They mainly stay in my sketchbook, or the beginnings of something I'll work up on a computer... but I made this edition from a drawing – opaque pen, straight onto film – so I haven’t used a computer at all. I love creating tension and depth using minimal means; this is one of the most minimal prints I've ever made. Finding a new process – being able to hand draw positives for printing – opened up how I think about screen printing. It'll be interesting to see where it takes me next year, as I'm planning to do much more printing. It’s an exciting place to be: at the start of something new.” Hand-printed by Rob at Sonsoles Print Studio in Peckham, south London.
