French 75

Diane Bresson

Only four colours? That’s right folks. For this sensational print, Diane really went to town exploring the possibilities of risograph colour layering. The layering of the base colours creates additional shades, adding more depth and complexity to a playful yet meticulously constructed design; the shapes brought together one by one, like a puzzle. With its vibrant hues, its lively composition pushing beyond the edges of the ‘frame’, and its echoes of Sonia Delaunay, French 75 is a tour de force. A mini masterpiece named (rather appropriately) after a cocktail comprising gin, champagne, lemon juice and sugar. Santé! French 75 is one of three new riso editions launched in July 2021 for Diane’s debut Look Up collection. Printed by Duplikat Press.
