Triskele Naples

Mary O'Connor

Dynamic and fresh: delightful accents of red, purple, fuchsia, and a delightfully confident Naples yellow motif... Imbued with an ancient quality, yet undeniably modern, there’s a natural, elemental tone to Mary's prints – made all the more engaging by the crisp geometry of her hand-cut paper stencils. Traditional triskele symbols have three interlocked spirals representing earth, water and sky (or the spiritual, physical and celestial realms). Common features in both ancient and modern Celtic art, triskeles were very much in Mary’s mind when creating her debut Look Up collection, providing a foundation for her experiments with shape and colour. Hand-printed by Mary in Dublin, autumn 2021, launched February 2022.
